President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has allocated portfolios to recently approved Ministerial nominees, including prominent figures like former Governors Nyesom Wike and Dave Umahi. Nyesom Wike has been appointed as the Minister of FCT, while Dave Umahi assumes the role of Minister of Works. Notably, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim becomes the first female Minister of State for Police Affairs, adding to the diverse lineup.
Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, born in Plateau State, spent her formative years in Abuja. She graduated with a degree in Sociology from the University of Abuja at 19 and further achieved two master’s degrees from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Her early career saw her working at Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS), contributing to spatial data infrastructure projects in the F.C.T.
She co-founded The Beehive Initiative, now known as the BumbleeBee Civic Initiative, a platform aimed at empowering politically inclined women and fostering grassroots civic awareness. Additionally, she held a senior sales director position at Mary Kay, a cosmetics and skin-care company.
In June 2021, Sulaiman-Ibrahim assumed the role of Federal Commissioner at the National Commission For Refugees Migrants And Internally Displaced Persons Office. Her advisory roles included serving as the Special Adviser on Strategic Communication to the Minister of State for Education and becoming a member of the Nasarawa State Economic Advisory Council.
