In a fortunate turn of events, three individuals managed to escape a potentially fatal accident during a multiple-vehicle collision in the Anthony Obanikoro region of Lagos. The incident, which involved a 40-foot container, two Toyota Camry cars (with license plates KRD 432 JA and APP 43 HN), and a sand-loaded tipper (bearing license plate T 17001LA), took place on Saturday.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in an official statement posted on their verified Twitter account @followlasma, revealed that the mishap unfolded due to a brake malfunction in the 40-foot container truck. The truck was speeding when it collided with three other vehicles, including a tipper laden with sand.
Lawal Babatunde of Eagle Bravo from Zone 11 Anthony, alongside law enforcement officers from the Ilupeju area, spearheaded the swift rescue operation. Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, the General Manager of LASTMA, emphasized the importance of maintaining vehicles in optimal condition before commencing any travel, both within and outside Lagos.
The successful rescue mission was made possible by the collaboration between Ilupeju Police Command and LASTMA officials, underscoring the significance of collective efforts during emergencies. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and prioritize vehicle maintenance to prevent accidents of this nature.
