Disu is the immediate past Commander, Force Intelligence Bureau, Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force.

He is a graduate of English Education from Lagos State University. He was born in Lagos Island, Lagos State, on April 13, 1966.

He holds two Masters degrees – one in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State, and the other in Criminology, Security, and Legal Psychology from Lagos State University.

He joined the police on May 18, 1992. He has attended several professional courses both at home and abroad, including Small Arms Smuggling Training in Botswana; Internet Fraud Training at Cambridge University, UK; Strategic Leadership Command Course at the Police Staff College, Jos; Forensic Investigations and Criminal Intelligence Course at the University of Lagos, amongst others.

Disu was appointed as Commander, Police Intelligence Response Team, on August 2, 2021 by former IG, Usman Baba, following the suspension of embattled DCP Abba Kyari.

Prior to that, he was the Commander, Rapid Response Squad, Lagos State where he led a team that made several arrests of criminals, especially fraudulent persons.

Meanwhile, Egbetokun has revealed that his administration will establish a specialised Quick Intervention Squad within the Nigeria Police Force to prevent crimes and curb criminality in Nigeria.

He made this remark on Friday during his maiden conference with members of the Police Management Team at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

“The Nigeria Police Force under my command, in its quest to stamp out violent crimes and their detrimental and debilitating effects on the security and safety of our society, will forge ahead to tackle the menace of crimes and criminality head on with the establishment of a specialised Quick Intervention Squad which will comprise combat ready Police Mobile Force personnel with effective and enhanced training in crisis de-escalation and violent crime reduction strategies,” he said.

Speaking further, the acting IGP declared that the Nigeria Police Force would not go into partnership with any outlawed group, but would only engage them in dialogue.

Responding to an inquiry concerning whether or not the police would partner non-state actors such as the ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo, who accused security agencies of being complicit in oil bunkering in the Niger Delta region, the IG revealed that the NPF under his leadership would do no such thing.
