The Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora in Ibarapa geopolitical division of the state has received 100 high-tech laptops from the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) under the Board Chairmanship of Pro. Adeolu Akande; to enhance research and teaching in the institution.
According to dejoymedia.online source, the laptops were supplied under the Advance Digital Programme for Tertiary Institutions(ADAPTI) initiative of the NCC.
The ADAPTI initiative of the NCC, the source states further, is aimed at bridging the digital Information knowledge gaps that exist in the academia and facilitate remote research and learning between lecturers and students by providing computers, other ICT equipment, devices and connectivity infrastructure to enable the lecturers, staff and students acquire requisite ICT skills in the new digital economy ecosystem.
The initiative involves supply of laptops configured and integrated into the cloud laptop computers with e-learning suites in higher institutions across the country.
The NCC has of late provided various support programmes and initiatives at the University of Ibadan, the Polythecnic of Ibadan,Ladoke Akintola University,Ogbomosho,Ladoke Akintola University, Iseyin Campus, the Oke Ogun Polythecnic, Saki, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education,Oyo, Federal College of Education(Special),Oyo, Federal Polythecnic,Ayede, Ogbomosho and various secondary schools across the state, said the source.
