You’re uniquely different.
Born like a boy, but not to live like a toy;
Except for the cleft within your thighs
From where Everyman became
‘Til your womanhood began to show
At puberty, when you became noticeable
By all, including those who had disdained you.
They’d cast backward glances as you walked past them
Innocently, in the marketplace of life.
You’re uniquely different.
Heads are forced to turn at your appearance
At social functions or religious gatherings, even by pious men.
You’re like a ripe mango tree, and not a toy;
Destined to be assaulted
By those who seek your fruit,
Intentionally or unintentionally;
Whether by benevolent or malevolent disposition,
Your position remains unique in the world,
Either as a Jezebel, or an Esther;
The choice is informed by your receipt of the love,
Of that Man, from whose cleft is the fount of life.
You’re uniquely different.
And that’s why the fiend aims at shackling your destiny;
But, “woman thou art loosed,” when thou fall into love’s embrace-
Agape love, and not erotic, is usually selfish.
Blessed is your womb, and its fruits, when you embrace this love,
That gives meaning to your beauty and womanhood.
As your menstrual blood produces a new you when properly engaged;
So will Calvary’s blood produce a new man in you,
When you engage Calvary’s altar in intense supplication;
For wholeness and redemption, from all known and unknown misdeeds.
It is then that your uniqueness will shine forth,
As a shining star on a black night before the whole world.
