Speaking during the courtesy visit, the CCII President General-elect, Barr. Niyi Ajewole applauded the Olubadan for his efforts towards stability of peace and transquility in Ibadanland and its environs.

He maintained that the Olubadan Palace would be completed within six months of his administration, saying Oba Balogun would be the first Ibadan monarch to reside in the new palace.

He said, “We shall take steps to rehabilitate our youths for them to be useful to the society particularly Ibadanland, we are planning to have a microfinance bank so that all our market men and women can have access to short loan.”

The CCII President General-elect said his administration would run an all-inclusive government where everyone would be carried along in the activities of the Council.

“People should expect transparent administration, administration that will serve Ibadan people wholeheartedly, an administration that will honour the Oyo State Governor, the Olubadan, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Mogajis, Baales and all Chiefs in Ibadanland.”

He said his administration would unite with all the aggrieved parties so as to take Ibadanland to greater heights.

Ajewole however sought the support of the Olubadan, Olubadan-in-council, sons and daughters of Ibadanland so as to take the city to its destination of glory.

Other elected members of the CCII Executive Council include:
First Vice President General, Dr. Tirimisiyu Oladimeji; Second Vice President General, Baale Alamu Oloyede; General Secretary, Ayobami Subair; Treasurer, Prince Caleb Akande; 1st Assistant General Secretary, Mogaji Ismail Sodeinde; Second Assistant Secretary General, Rafiu Iyanda; Publicity Secretary, Kola Olomide; Financial Secretary, Oyasogo Olumuyiwa; Legal Adviser, Barr. Adekola Taiwo; Social Secretary, Alhaja Folashade Olayiwola; and the Chief Whip, Mrs Bolaji Olowookere.

Speaking on behalf of the Olubadan, the younger brother to the monarch, Sen. Kola Balogun described Ibadan as the giant of Africa and God’s own land.

He said Olubadan intervened in CCII crisis to forestall the breakdown of law and order in the town, promising to support the CCII executive in completing the palace.

Other High Chiefs who also spoke at the meeting showed displeasure over attitude of the outgoing CCII President General, Prince Yemisi Adeaga towards the issue of the completion of the palace and the general management of the Council.
