The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS), has commended the visitor of the institution, Governor Seyi Abiodun Makinde for providing the financial and moral support needed by the institution to ensure the full accreditation of 29 programme.
Recall that the institution had earlier received about 90 resource persons and the delegation of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), for the accreditation and re-accreditation of a total of 29 academic programmes run by the institution.
The NBTE is the agency responsible for quality control of polytechnics and other technical institutions in Nigeria.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday and signed by the Media officer, Mr Adebayo Samson Abiodun commended the visitor for ensuring that students get the best education in character and learning in line with the polytechnic’s mission of developing leaders.
He said: “The management of the institution and entire community are very grateful to His Excellency, Seyi Makinde for his full support towards the successful accreditation of the 29 programme.
“We just received 99.9% of our accreditation and we need to express our gratitude to the visitor as well as the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Abdul Rahman Abdul raheem who saw to the completion of the full accreditation.”
Mr Abiodun, who equally commended the role and efforts of the Governing council led by Barrister Onijo through out the accreditation said that the management under his watch headed by Dr. (Surv) Sikiru Adetona Ajibola was able to put in place all the logistics and equipment required by the NBTE to facilitate the success of the routine academic quality control exercise by the regulatory body.
He congratulated the council, members of management team, staff and students of the polytechnic for recording such feat within the four years of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
He equally applauded Platinum IT Consultant for their immense contribution and active role in making it a success.
According to him, HRM Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Sue. Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Ilugbemidepo Oyedepo III, the Okere of Sakiland, as well as the High Chief Adegoke Ghazaal Abdur-Rasheed Adekilutoro 1 Bagii of Sakiland are also worthy of commendation for their active role towards the successful completion of the accredited courses.
He added that the state goverment must have seen the accreditation performance of the polytechnic and that the outcomes are in consonance with the policy direction of Makinde’s administration on the development of education in the state.
