In order to improve healthcare delivery in Ido local government area of Oyo state, the Council Boss, Sheriff Adeojo, on Wednesday, distributed assorted drugs to 23 primary health centres in the Council area.

Flagging off the exercise in one of the Primary Health Centres, the council boss said the gesture was borne out of his passion to deliver quantitative and qualitative healthcare services to the people of the communities that made up the council.

He also noted that the Council, with the support of the state government and the office of the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs in the state, is committed to improving wellbeing of the people.

While maintaining that the Council would not fold its arms and watch the people go through medical challenges, he noted that the health care needs of the people remains a top priority of the state and the LG administration.

Adeojo urged residents to go to the nearest PHCs in the different to freely access medical attention when needed.

“I am pleased by this exercise and know that it will go a long way in improving the health of our people. At the state level, we all know the governor is dedicated to programmes such as this, and it is important we complement such efforts at the local government level.

“So, I like to call on the people to go to the nearest primary health centre whenever they are sick, and I am sure they will be examined and given drugs. The health centres will remain open to the people,” he said.

He, however, called on the Council’s Committee on Health to assist in monitoring and supervising the distribution of the drugs to achieve its purpose.
