According to the communique, the party said the Governor “stands out as the most suitable and capable manager to be entrusted with further responsibility of leading Oyo State for another 4 years.”

The communique was made available to newsmen by Barr. Bimpe Adelowo, the State Director of Communication and Planning on Sunday.

It read: “The AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS, OYO STATE at its State Expanded Stakeholders Meeting held on Wednesday 9th of March, 2023 which was attended by State Chairman Hon Adeoti Babatunde, ALHAJI Yinka Olona Barr. Bimpe Adelowo, Alhaja Mulikat Akintola-Woman Leader, Mrs Ronke Olaniran, Alhaji Ramoni Majekodunmi (Majek)- Oyo South Senatorial District Chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Shekoni- State Deputy Chairman, Party Leaders ( TLP Oloyede- Ìbàràpá Zone; ALHAJI Lateef Allí -Oyo Zone, Pa . Oyetunji and Alhaji Ajiboye-Ogbomoso Zone), Mr. Ismail Oyedeji, all the Local Government Chairmen and Members of local Executive and All our National Assembly Candidates and State Assembly Candidates.

“After a rigorous examination and careful evaluation of the leading candidates for Governship election in Oyo State, the Expanded Stakeholders conclusively resolved that our party in the Oyo State should continue to be part of progress of Oyo state by unanimously adopting His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde as our Choice in Governship Election to be held on the 18th March 2023 given his proven capacity to lead; especially in this challenging time we find ourselves as a nation.

“The Expanded stakeholders hinged its choice on the developmental trend and the delivery of quality administration witnessed by the people of Oyo State under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde which has necessarily created an adhesive bond between People of Oyo State and Governor Seyi Makinde, and working for his success at poll would be the highest form of patriotism expected of any responsible citizen, group or political party as ours.

“It is imperative to state that in the course of our evaluation, we have been able to interrogate the profile of the various eminent individuals contesting for the governorship position of the pace setter State. And through this process an in-depth consideration was given to the qualities, capacities, capabilities and performance of these candidates from the available previous public records of which we found Engr. Seyi Makinde stands out as the most suitable and capable manager to be entrusted with further responsibility of leading Oyo State for another 4 years.

“The Expanded Stakeholders also reiterates a point that our resolve remains our choice and this has nothing to do with political expediency, our consideration and choice is purely altruism.

“The Expanded Stakeholders commended many of our deserving and worthy State Exco members, leaders, many of our national and State Assembly candidates and members of the party at large who stood through thick and thin even in the face of unfavaourable political atmosphere to support the party in all its activities.

“Lastly, we call on all our teeming members and supporters and good people of Oyo State to come out en-mass on 18th March and cast their votes for Engr Seyi Makinde of PDP.”
