Colleagues mourn as Achievers varsity VC dies

The Vice Chancellor of Achievers University, Owo, Prof Samuel Aje, is dead.

The late VC, who assumed duty as the head of the institution in June 2020, was said to have died on Thursday.

However, the cause of his death was still unknown as of the time of filing this report.

When contacted, the university’s Head of Media and Protocols, Mr Adebayo Olagunju, confirmed the incident.

Olagunju described the VC’s death as sad.

He said the university community was shocked when the news broke.

“The family would soon issue further details on the incident,” Olagunju said.

A senior lecturer in the school, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, said the death of the vice-chancellor was shocking and devastating.

He said, “We were very shocked when we heard the news of his death. There was no sign of sickness on him before the Christmas break and we are yet to know the real cause of his death.”
