The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali, unveiled the ultramodern police station on Tuesday, commissioning it along with eight-bedroom apartments for the Police Barrack in Shimawa, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State.

The IGP, who was represented by Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 2, Bode Adeleke, advised the community to treat the recently given cutting-edge station as their project and to take care of it as such.

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Executive Secretary, Ogun State Security Trust Fund, Adeola Sonsanwo, appreciated the real estate company for their goodwill and assured the community of government intervention, particularly given the dire need for urgent repair of their road.

Speaking at the event, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, said the station could safely be considered as one of the best in the nation at the present, re-affirming the Nigerian police commitment to fostering an enabling environment by safeguarding the safety of lives and property.
