The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, has said his administration will establish cardiovascular centres at the State Hospital, Ring Road, Ibadan, in Oyo and Ogbomoso if elected governor in 2023.
Folarin said this would form a part of the total reform he would carry out in the health sector, saying the situation of many government-owned hospitals in the state was appalling and needed transformation.
He spoke in Ibadan on Tuesday at a forum he held with health workers in the state.
The APC candidate commended medical workers for risking their lives to save others while promising to upgrade medical facilities and make healthcare accessible to the people.
He said the incumbent governor, Seyi Makinde, had failed to provide healthcare for the people despite the importance of health.
Folarin said, “Our mission for the health sector of Oyo State is to improve quality of life by making healthcare delivery available, accessible, and affordable. Some of my health reform programmes include the Revitalisation of services and renovation of Ring Road State Hospital Ibadan; expansion of the state ambulance services and establishment of a Cardiovascular Centre at Ring Road State Hospital, State Hospitals Oyo and Ogbomoso.
