A support group of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, under the aegis of the City Boy Movement, on Wednesday, held a concert in Abuja to thrill supporters of the party who trooped out for its aborted one million-man march.

The show was held under the watchful eyes of stern-looking security operatives.

The aborted march was earlier arranged to bring all the APC and Tinubu-Shettima support groups together for familiarisation and preparation for the forthcoming general elections.

Themed “One-Million-Man March for Tinubu-Shettima Presidency: A walk for good governance,” it was slated to kick off from the presidential campaign council office after a prayer session and end at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.

Speaking on why the one million-man march which was earlier planned to launch the APC campaign was converted to a concert, the group’s Media Sub-Committee Secretary, Shehu Yahaya, told our correspondent that it was in line with the directive of the APC presidential campaign council.

“But because we have already sent out invitations and made payment for space, entertainment and logistics, we had to tinker with the idea of hosting a concert to avoid disappointing our young supporters,” he said.

Director-General of APC Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, had in a statement on Tuesday announced a shift in the date for commencement of its campaigns earlier scheduled for Wednesday.

Lalong explained that the adjustment of the timetable was a result of the move to expand the campaign council list to accommodate more stakeholders.

He said that a new date for the kick-off of the campaign would be made public soon.
