Water bill, exhibition of govt’s wickedness – Group
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

A self-determination group, United Indigenous People of Africa, has berated the Nigerian government over the newly re-introduced Water Resources Bill.

The group said the bill was a surreptitious move to place the control of all water resources under the control of the Federal Government while describing this as a mockery of the country’s federalism.

The co-Convener of UNIPA, Jean May, who is based in the United States, in a statement made available to our correspondent through the Ilana Omo Odua Worldwide on Sunday, described the bill as “an exhibition of wickedness on the part of the Nigerian government.”

The self-determination body, with chapters in 28 African countries and the United Kingdom, urged the indigenous groups in the South and the Middle-Belt of Nigeria to do everything lawful to stop the bill and ensure it is never reintroduced again.
