Kaduna Catholic bishop dies after illness

The Catholic Bishop of  Zaria Diocese in Kaduna State, Most Rev George Dodo, is dead.

Dodo, who was the pioneer bishop of the diocese, was said to have died in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness.

The Diocesan Vice-Chancellor of Zaria, Rev Fr Abrahaman Bisan Make, announced the demise of the clergyman in a statement in Kaduna on Friday.

The statement enjoined all to pray for “his peaceful repose” while adding that information regarding his burial would be announced “as soon as possible”.

The statement read partly, “With gratitude to God, I have been directed to announce the passing unto glory of our bishop, Most Rev George Dodo, the pioneer bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria.

“This sad event took place in the early hours of Friday, July 7, 2022, after a brief illness.”
