The host community of Elebu off Akala express way down to Idi ahun has been thrown into a fresh transportation hiccup.
This transportation issue has become an annual disaster for residents of those communities.
The host residents have called on Governor Seyi makinde to see to the dilapidating state of the road.
The host community residents were cut off from accessing their various homes last week Friday when the heavy down pour eroded the Gethsemane church bridge located at orita merin elebu down to Idi – ahun road.
Speaking with one of the residents who pleaded to be anonymous “This road has been giving lots of headaches over the years, especially during raining season, it makes movement very difficult and stressful. We have written and call on the government on many occasions but to no avail ” he said.
Another person who spoke with our correspondence said “elebu is a fast developing corridor in Ibadan with magnificent buildings, it will be good if the government should provide a good road network like that of akobo for us” he said.
Another person named Mascot said he is even planning on relocating from the community ” what’s the essence of a good house with a poor road network? I spend nothing less than ₦50,000 monthly on repair of my car”.
Taking a tour round the community, Dejoymedia could say that the roads are in a very bad state as we have to park and take bikes in order to make thorough inspection.
The host community is making a cry to the government to kindly look into the situation before it get out of control.
