The immediate past President of the senate, Dr Abubakar Busola Saraki, has stated that when he opposed the plan to drive a Muslim-Muslim presidency in Nigeria in 2014, he acted in the Nation’s interest and believed Nigeria was bigger than anyone’s ambition, without exempting that of the APC presidential aspirant , Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This came in a statement signed by Saraki’s head of Media, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in response to the speech made by Tinubu during his visit to the Ogun State delegates in Abeokuta on Thursday. Tinubu claimed that Saraki and some other persons opposed his desire to run alongside President Buhari as his vice in 2015 elections, noted that he would oppose any plan that causes a religious uproar in a multi-religious country like Nigeria.
